Contractor Software Hub LLC

Overview

We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit ContractorSoftwareHub.com, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.

This site does not have user accounts, does not process payments, and does not sell products or services directly. Our primary data collection comes from analytics tools and cookies used to understand how visitors interact with our content.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information Collected Automatically

When you visit our Site, certain information is collected automatically through cookies and analytics tools, including:

  • IP address (anonymized where possible)
  • Browser type and version
  • Operating system
  • Referring URL (the page you came from)
  • Pages visited and time spent on each page
  • Date and time of your visit
  • Device type (desktop, tablet, mobile)
  • Geographic location (country/region level, derived from IP address)
  • Clicks on affiliate links (tracked via ThirstyAffiliates plugin)

1.2 Information You Provide Voluntarily

We do not currently operate contact forms, newsletter sign-ups, or comment sections. If you email us directly at chris@contractorsoftwarehub.com, we will receive whatever information you include in that message.

1.3 What We Do Not Collect

  • We do not collect names, addresses, or other identifying information through the Site itself
  • We do not process credit card numbers or payment data
  • We do not create or maintain user accounts
  • We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13

2. Cookies

We use cookies — small text files stored on your device — to operate the Site and understand how it is used. Below is a breakdown of the cookies we use.

2.1 Google Analytics 4 (GA4) Cookies

We use Google Analytics 4 to measure Site traffic and visitor behavior. GA4 sets the following cookies:

Cookie Name Purpose Duration
`_ga` Distinguishes unique users 2 years
`_ga_[ID]` Stores session state for GA4 2 years
`_gid` Distinguishes users (session-level) 24 hours
`_gat` Throttles request rate 1 minute

Google Analytics collects information about your use of our Site and transmits it to Google servers. Google may use this data in accordance with its own privacy policy. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

For more information, see Google’s Privacy Policy.

2.2 ThirstyAffiliates Cookies

We use the ThirstyAffiliates plugin to manage and track affiliate links. When you click a link on our Site that leads to an affiliate program, ThirstyAffiliates may set a short-lived cookie or use redirect tracking to record that a click occurred. This helps us understand which content drives referrals and is required for affiliate program compliance.

These cookies do not store personal information beyond a session identifier and click event.

2.3 Managing Cookies

You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:

  • View cookies currently stored
  • Block cookies from specific sites
  • Block all third-party cookies
  • Delete all cookies when you close your browser

Note that disabling cookies may affect the performance of some websites you visit, though it will not significantly impact your experience on this Site since we do not require cookies for core functionality.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information collected for the following purposes:

  • Analytics and site improvement: Understanding which content is most useful, identifying technical issues, and improving the Site
  • Affiliate tracking compliance: Recording click events on affiliate links as required by our affiliate program agreements
  • Security: Detecting and preventing fraudulent or abusive traffic
  • Legal compliance: Fulfilling obligations under applicable law

4. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

For visitors in the European Economic Area (EEA) and United Kingdom, we process your data on the following legal bases under GDPR Article 6:

  • Legitimate Interests (Art. 6(1)(f)): We have a legitimate interest in understanding how our Site is used so we can improve it and produce better content for visitors. We have assessed that this interest is not overridden by your privacy rights, as we collect only aggregated, anonymized analytics data and do not build individual profiles for marketing purposes.
  • Legal Obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)): Where processing is necessary to comply with applicable law.

You have the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests. See Section 8 for how to exercise this right.

5. Third-Party Services and Disclosure

We share data with the following third parties as part of normal Site operation:

5.1 Google Analytics

We share anonymized usage data with Google through the Google Analytics 4 service. Google acts as a data processor on our behalf for analytics purposes. See Google’s Privacy & Terms for details on how Google handles this data.

5.2 Affiliate Networks and Programs

When you click an affiliate link on our Site and visit a vendor’s website, that vendor may set their own cookies and collect information about your visit in accordance with their own privacy policies. We do not control, and are not responsible for, the data practices of these third parties.

Our current and pending affiliate partners include:

Active programs: Jobber, Housecall Pro, Service Fusion

Pending programs: JobNimbus, Buildxact, FieldEdge, Roofr, Service Autopilot, Buildertrend, AccuLynx

We may also work with affiliate networks such as Commission Junction (CJ.com) which may set their own tracking cookies when you interact with affiliate links.

5.3 Hosting and Infrastructure

Our Site is hosted on third-party infrastructure. Our hosting provider may have access to server logs that include IP addresses and request data as part of normal hosting operations.

5.4 No Sale of Personal Information

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. See Section 9 for CCPA-specific disclosures.

6. Data Retention

We retain data as follows:

  • Google Analytics data: Retained for 14 months within Google Analytics, in accordance with our GA4 data retention settings
  • Server logs: Typically retained for 30–90 days by our hosting provider
  • Email correspondence: Retained for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to your inquiry and for our records

We do not maintain a database of visitor personal information.

7. International Data Transfers

Our Site is operated from the United States. If you are visiting from the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or other regions with data protection laws, be aware that your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction.

Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) for transfers of personal data from the EEA or UK.

8. Data Breach Notification

If we become aware of a data breach that may affect your rights and freedoms, we will notify the relevant supervisory authority within 72 hours of becoming aware, as required by GDPR Article 33. Where a breach is likely to result in a high risk to your rights and freedoms, we will also notify affected individuals without undue delay. Given the limited personal data we collect (anonymized analytics only), high-risk breaches are unlikely. All breach incidents will be documented internally.

9. Your Rights Under GDPR (EEA and UK Visitors)

If you are located in the EEA or UK, you have the following rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or UK GDPR:

  • Right of Access: You may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Right to Rectification: You may ask us to correct inaccurate personal data.
  • Right to Erasure (“Right to be Forgotten”): You may request that we delete your personal data, subject to certain exceptions.
  • Right to Restriction of Processing: You may ask us to limit how we use your data in certain circumstances.
  • Right to Data Portability: You may request your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
  • Right to Object: You may object to processing based on legitimate interests. We will stop processing unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds that override your interests.
  • Right to Lodge a Complaint: You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at chris@contractorsoftwarehub.com with the subject line “Privacy Request.”

Because we collect only anonymized analytics data and do not maintain individual user profiles, we may have limited ability to identify or retrieve data specifically tied to you. We will respond to all requests within 30 days.

This sharing is for operational purposes consistent with our affiliate review business and is not a “sale” under the CCPA. However, if you wish to opt out of any data sharing with third parties, you may do so by:

  • Installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Add-on
